The sales pipeline that only exists in the salesperson's head
Ask your best salesperson how many deals they're closing this month, and they'll tell you instantly. Ask the company the same thing, and the answer takes a while, because in practice the real sales pipeline isn't in any system, it's scattered across their calendar, WhatsApp, and their own memory.
That works fine until that salesperson goes on vacation, changes jobs, or simply forgets to update someone. Every deal lost in the meantime doesn't show up as a sales mistake, it shows up as a "customer who went quiet," and nobody ever finds out exactly where the deal stalled.
Keeping the pipeline in one place isn't about controlling the salesperson, it's about the whole company seeing, together, where each deal stands, what's stuck, and what needs attention, instead of depending on one person's memory to know whether the month will close well or not.
